Less than a week after the Dell-EMC merger, OpenText has announced it will acquire EMC’s Enterprise Content Division for $1.62 Billion. The 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management placed both EMC and OpenText in the Leader quadrant, meaning that both companies have great ability to execute and completeness of vision.
Waterloo, Ontario based OpenText is the second largest ECM vendor by world market share. With the consolidation of Documentum, Documentum Sciences, Captiva and other EMC products, this merger will bring even more to OpenText’s ECM arsenal.
